Lama Dawa's Teaching Schedule

2007 Teachings and Locations
Oxford, Iowa
November 16th thru 18th - 2007
During this special weekend, Rinpoche will be giving 'lung' (verbal transmission) and instruction on a number of key Sutras. Reading Sutras is a common practice among all Buddhist schools. Typically, patrons would commission the monks or nuns in the monasteries to recite Sutras on their behalf - or they would invite a group of monks and nuns into their homes to recite the Sutras in their home. It is believed that by having Sutras recited, merit and auspiciousness is increased, generating positive energy for everyone, including the sponsor.
The Sutras that Rinpoche will be teaching are ones that frequently come up in mirror divinations as ways to address a variety of problems. By receiving the transmission and instruction, we can recite these Sutras ourselves. English translations of the Sutras will be provided, and they will also be available for free down-load on www.SaraswatiBhawan.org in the future.
In addition, Rinpoche will be giving instruction on how to perform the short Tara offering ceremony - another puja that is frequently suggested in mirror divinations. By learning how to do these ceremonies ourselves and receiving the transmission to do so, we do not need to be dependent on monasteries in Asia to perform these services for us.
